Monica Gibbs, a Philadelphia native, is an attorney with an extensive background in both civil and criminal litigation. As Assistant General Counsel for the Delaware River Port Authority, Monica negotiates Collective Bargaining Agreements and manages labor matters between the Authority and its represented employees. Monica started her legal career representing indigent defendants in criminal court as a staff attorney with the non-profit Defender Association of Philadelphia. Subsequently, Monica became a civil litigator with a focus on products, premises and motor vehicle liability. She is licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Monica graduated Cum Laude from Temple University in 2003, with a dual major in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. She then attended Temple University's Beasley School of Law, from which she obtained her Juris Doctor degree in 2006. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the American Bar Association’s Tort and Trial Insurance Practice Section; the Philadelphia Bar Association; and the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia. She is a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church and has previously served on its Board of Trustees.
Monica resides in Philadelphia with her husband Charles and their two young children. In her spare time, she serves as a mentor to young women in the community, seeking to instill the values in others that made her who she is today: determination, self-confidence, and resilience.
